I started in journalism in August 2010 as a part-time sports reporter at the Muscatine Journal. I worked in Muscatine for six years before moving to where I live now in Holland, where I worked with Mid-America Publishing covering The Grundy Register and Parkersburg Eclipse News-Review from 2016 to 2023. From there, I took a position at the Marshalltown Times-Republican as the assistant sports editor, up through April of 2025 when I was laid off.
I have earned several awards from the Iowa Newspaper Association’s annual contest, including two first-place awards in the 2025 awards for Best Sports Feature Story and Best Photo Story (the latter shared with Wendy Witt of Meskwaki Media).

I married the love of my life, Cali, in 2016, and her and I live in Holland just north of Grundy Center with our two cats, Josie and Link.
