Grundy Center girls basketball defeated South Hardin, 64-45, at Grundy Center High School in a Class 2A Region 8 second round matchup.

The Spartans, ranked seventh in Class 2A, improved to 20-2 and will take on Jesup on Friday back in Grundy Center in a regional semifinal.

Ava Mundt finished with 12 points, 10 rebounds and four blocks for the Spartans. Kali Aldrich and Karlee Lynch provided 11 points each,

The Spartans led 28-16 at halftime and outscored the Tigers 20-12 in the third quarter to secure the victory.
